The book, is divided into six chapters each covering one of the main technologies of wind, biomass, photovoltaics, solar thermal, geotermal and small hydro, with an additional section covering the integration of renewable energy sources into society. Each of the main chapters stars with a technology overview and survey of the likely developments in technology in the near future and then has a section on costs and prices looking at the economis of the different technologies, and the support available in different European countries. In particuñar, it focuses on the cost reductions achieved in the last 20 years and those likely in the near future. The chapters also look at the state of the different rechnologies in the various new and existing European member states.
