The present essay concerns methodology, strategies, and techniques used in social skills acquisition through the English as a second language classroom. A meticulous bibliographic inquiry was conducted, which resulted in proposals for different strategies for the acquisitions of social skills to be integrated into the daily learning activities during the period of 2012 to 2013, eight second grade students from a school in the province of Pichincha in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom with the purpose of detecting deficiencies in the acquisition and development of social skills. This research poses possible solutions for the observed problems and pertinent methods and recommendations to affect attitude changes in the students’ behavior. The application of these methods would help the children develop and maximize problem-solving skills, promote better interaction with others, and improve their quality of life as they mature.
